Setting up a Value Set through Lookups Form

Create your user lookup data

  1. Create a lookup Type and data on the Applications Utilities Lookups form.
  2. Enter codes and meanings.
  3. Note the value you entered for field Type, you will need this information when setting up the Where/Order By block in the value set.

Change responsibility to System Administrator

Navigate to: Application > Validation> Set

  1. Set up your value set.
  2. Value Validation Type should = Table.

Click the Edit Information Button. This will take you to the Validation table Information form.

Setup:

Table Application = Application Object Library

Table Name = FND_LOOKUP_VALUES

Value = LOOKUP_CODE

Meaning = MEANING

Where/Order By: where LOOKUP_TYPE = ‘xxxxx’

 (xxxxx = your Type from step 1)

 

You can now attach this value set to a flexfield segment and use the Applications Utilities Lookups values in a flexfield.

Internet Explorer Crashes When Forms Is Launched

Symptoms

Whenever you tried to launch any form in Internet Explorer 7 or higher in Oracle E-business Suite 11i, Internet Explorer crashes resulting in the following error:

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Cause

The problem can have various causes but generally this problem is caused by the incompatibilities between shared dll’s.

To attempt to solve this problem, please do the following.

When the error appears select the link “To see what data this error report contains, click here”

You will then see something similar to the following screen

Solution:

If you are running Internet Explorer 7 or higher please make sure you meet the minimum requirements as follows:

– E-Business Suite Release 11i version 11.5.9.CU2
– Oracle Developer 6i patchset 18 (6.0.8.27.x) or later
– Oracle Applications Technology 11i.ATG_PF.H Rollup 4 (RUP 4) (Patch 4676589)
– JInitiator 1.3.1.x
– Desktop clients running Microsoft Windows XP

In order to solve this problem, please follow the steps below:

  • upgrade your java home to JRE 1.6.x_x.
  • copy the “jvm.dll” file from <<java_home>>\bin\client  and paste it into <<JInitiator>>\bin\hotspot.

Running Concurrent Program via CONCSUB

For a concurrent program defined via “Define Concurrent Program” form but submitted via CONCSUB, the following parameters can be used by CONCSUB :

PRINTER=<printer name>
NUMBER_OF_COPIES=<number of reports to be printed>
PRINT_STYLE=<printer style to be used>    
LANGUAGE=<language to be used>

Sample:

CONCSUB apps/apps SYSADMIN “System Administrator” SYSADMIN \
WAIT=Y CONCURRENT FND FNDSCARU LANGUAGE=FRENCH \
PRINTER=hplj4l NUMBER_OF_COPIES=1 \
PRINT_STYLE=LANDSCAPE

For parameters that follow the CONCURRENT parameter and include
spaces, enclose the parameter argument in double quotes, then again in
single quotes.

Change Title On The Apps Main Window using CUSTOM.PLL

Oracle Applications includes a plsql library file called CUSTOM.PLL. This
library may be used to customize various events of Applications Forms.

CUSTOM.PLL is present in the directory:

$AU_TOP\resource\plsql

Modify the CUSTOM.pll to include the following in procedure ‘event’:

IF (event_name = ‘WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE’) THEN

  Set_Window_Property(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, TITLE, ‘<customized title>’)

Oracle Applications Release 11.5.10.2 Maintenance Pack Installation Instructions

Subject: Oracle Applications Release 11.5.10.2 Maintenance Pack Installation Instructions.

Section 1: Pre-Update Tasks 

The tasks in this section are required. They can be performed at any time prior to the application of this maintenance pack. Complete them in the order listed. 

1. Determine Required Steps (Optional)

Run TUMS-MP by applying patch 4238286 and following the instructions in the associated readme file. Apply the patch on the administration server node. The Upgrade Manual Script for the Maintenance Pack (TUMS-MP) examines your current configuration and creates a report detailing which of the steps in these instructions you must complete and which steps you can ignore. 

2. Apply the AD Minipack

Apply AD Minipack I.2 (4337683The most recent replacement for this patch is 4712852) on all application tier server nodes. You must have implemented AutoConfig to apply this patch. 

3. Update AutoConfig technology stack template by applying patch 4104924 (Superseded by 3480000- ORACLE APPLICATIONS RELEASE 11.5.10.2 MAINTENANCE PACK).
